The 1st Annual Nassau County Humane Rights for Animals Lobby Day was held in Woodmere, Long Island, New York, on April 28, 2011.<\/p>\n

Patrick Kwan, New York State Director, Field Services, The Humane Society of The United States, gave a multi media presentation.<\/p>\n

He asked the audience to support several bills. One in particular – A.4407 (Lentol)\/S.3237 (LaValle) – Close Animal Fighting Loopholes, is designed to prevent animal cruelty and protect the public against animal offenders that are often arrested for felonies, battery related violence, and illegal narcotics.<\/p>\n

After the presentation five of us drove to Rockville Center and met with Senator Dean Skelos where Mr. Kwan presented this information again. I was there as photographer and local constituent and I am very pleased to report S.3237 passed on June 3, 2011.<\/p>\n
