It was a first birthday party for Gracie, who loves Minnie Mouse. I think minnie and mouse are some of the first words she learned. And it was so cute, even though she can hardly speak she kept pointing to the ears and saying – minnie, minnie! Gracie’s Minnie Mouse theme included mouse ear headbands for the girls and a styled dessert table for treats and a backdrop for a step and repeat photo session. Even the cupcakes had Minnie Mouse ears. The 3 tierd birthday cake and cupcakes were baked at the frosted Rose Bakery in Smithtown, Long Island.
When I pulled up to the home it was a brutal and scorching 90 or so degrees on the water in Copaigue. Perfect for a backyard BBQ. But within 20 minutes a big black cloud came over and suddenly there was a torrential downpour. Gladly it didn’t last long, the Sun came out again and the father was able to fire up his grill. A special cake was made for a cake smash. And when the baby was placed in her high chair with a cake she wasn’t sure what to do and didn’t want to mess it up and upset her parents. I instructed them to smile no matter what happens and this will give her the ok to continue and make a mess. Which is how it played out. I’m not sure the baby loved the frosting though and at first she was very hesitant to eat it. A slice was removed and she tried the cake and enjoyed it!
