The Inn at Irving is the home of Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon, and was the setting for this surprise bridal shower. As you can see from these photographs, it was a surprise (of sorts). The mother of the bride wanted her daughter to fuss over her outfit a little – so the bride was told about the luncheon but not the location. It was the bride’s sister who pulled it off flawlessly by handing the cabbie a note with the address so that the bride wouldn’t be able to overhear anything! In keeping with Lady Mendel’s theme, each guest was presented with with a tea pot. Each pot was hand tied with a different antique ribbon.
